Just because I miss being a teacher, here’s Z’s 8th month narrative report:

PHYSICAL

You can easily roll over from your back to your tummy, then back again. You’re starting to crawl, without your tummy touching the ground. Maybe a little more practice can get you going to do crawls for longer than 5 minutes. There’s no need for assistance when sitting, and you’re starting to pull yourself up to sitting position when you go off-balanced. You are also showing interest in trying to walk as you take steps when your feet are touching the ground.

The development of your fine motor skills are at par. You know how to use your fingers in order to get something. You’re just starting to realize that both of your hands can work together. Hand and eye coordination seems to be developing well as you can put things in your mouth.

SOCIO-EMOTIONAL

People who see you always say you’re a happy and cheerful child who always smiles and give a warm feeling. Though stranger anxiety hasn’t kicked in, separation anxiety is slowly taking place. But, you quickly adjust when Mommy leaves the room.

Children seem to give you joy as you always want to play with those you see, or even just hear. In the playroom, instead of crawling, you bask in the big children’s games and just stare in awe.

COGNITIVE

Your memory skills are developing extremely well as you remember what to do in a certain event. For example, in a car, you would know that you can “drive” the steering wheel, even if you haven’t been in a car for a week. You’re also starting to respond when your name is called. Babbling and cooing are getting daily appearances.

Ok, I tried making it unbiased but I’m really proud of my little guy! He has been amazing since day 1 and here we are starting his 8th month. I wonder what his surprises will be!

Happy 8th month, my darling! Mommy will always be proud of you!
